Industrial Drum Brakes
Drum brakes achieve braking effect by converting rotational motion into frictional heat through friction. It consists of brake drums, brake shoes, brake friction pads, pull rods, adjustment rods and other components. When the driver steps on the brake pedal, the pedal transmits the braking force to the vacuum booster pump, which amplifies the braking force and converts it into oil pressure in the brake master cylinder of the vehicle's hydraulic system. The hydraulic oil transmits pressure to the brake slave cylinder located in the drum brake. The piston in the slave cylinder pushes the brake shoe, and the friction pad on the brake shoe rubs against the rotating brake drum, converting kinetic energy into heat energy, slowing down the vehicle and eventually stopping it.
