FAQ about the YT1 thruster

 

Q1: What is the function of the YT1 electric hydraulic actuator? How does it operate?

It is the driving component of the YWZ/YWZ4 drum brake, and it can also be equipped with valves and clamping mechanisms.

When powered on: The motor drives the impeller to rotate → The hydraulic oil builds pressure → The piston push rod rises → The brake spring is compressed → The brake is released.

When powered off: The motor stops, and the oil pressure disappears → The push rod falls back under the brake spring and its own weight → The brake is held.

 

Q2: What does the model YT1-45Z/6 mean?

According to the old naming method:

YT1 = Electric hydraulic actuator

45 = Rated thrust is approximately 450 N (old data also writes 45 kgf)

Z = Standard type without load spring (ZB with spring, ZC with buffer spring)

/6 = Rated stroke 60 mm

The suffix E1/E2 = Mechanical travel switch, Ex = Flameproof type

 

Q3: Which parameters should be considered when choosing the model?

A: Four hard indicators:

Rated thrust N (180 - 3200 N, common) - Must be ≥ the thrust required for the brake to release

Rated stroke mm (25 - 120) - Matches the retreating distance of the brake shoe

Operating frequency (720/600/470 times/hour) - For high-frequency start-stop, choose the 720 gear

Voltage/environment (conventional AC380V; replace with cold-resistant oil at low temperatures; choose Ex for explosion-proof environments)

 

Q4: Can YT1 be directly replaced with YTD/ED actuators?

A: No. YT1 is an older model, with different installation hole spacing and dimensions from the new YTD and ED series. The replacement must be verified by checking the bracket hole positions.

 

Q5: What are the strict requirements for installation?

A:The mainstream is vertical installation with the push rod pointing upwards; horizontal installation requires confirmation from the manufacturer that it is allowed and the main label faces upwards.

The push rod connection block can rotate, but it cannot withstand large lateral forces.

During operation, the lower end of the piston should be at least 5 mm away from the bottom of the cylinder.

After the first installation, run the actuator several times with power off to confirm the up and down movement is correct and there is no leakage before loading.

 

Q6: What hydraulic oil should be used? What about low temperatures?

A: Normal temperature -20 to +40℃ use DB-25 transformer oil or L-HL hydraulic oil;

0 to -20℃ replace with YH-10 aviation hydraulic oil;

Fill the oil to the position of the overflow screw hole, do not exceed; when adding oil, pull the push rod several times to release air.

 

Q7: Why doesn't the push rod rise when powered on or rises slowly?

A: According to probability:

Insufficient oil or deteriorated oil → Add oil/replace oil

Voltage lower than 85% of the rated value → Check the power supply

The motor has burned out / the impeller is stuck / the impeller has a key jam → Check and inspect

Severe oil leakage, oil level is too high but does not increase pressure → Check the seal

The brake spring is set too tightly → Re-adjust the brake clearance

 

Q8: Does the push rod not fall back or fall back slowly after power off?

A: Common three things:

The piston/cylinder is stuck, or the oil is dirty → Clean and replace the oil

The push rod connection mechanism is stiff (large lateral force) → Adjust the coaxiality
