The disc brake is a high-performance brake. Although it is small in size, it has the advantages of good performance, light weight and high availability. However, it also has some deficiencies. The common faults during use are insufficient braking force , Noise, air resistance, and front wheel bearings are vulnerable, these four problems seem complicated, but they are also very easy to solve!
1. Insufficient braking force
When the owner finds that the disc brake force is insufficient, the following two methods can be used to solve it:
1. Remove foreign objects from the brake pads. These foreign objects generally appear in the chip chute, which is an important factor to reduce the braking force!
2. Change the brake pad material. The lack of braking force may be caused by the low friction coefficient of the brake pad. The owner can use a slightly softer material to increase the friction coefficient of the brake pad, thereby enhancing the braking capacity.
Second, the brake noise
When the vehicle owner brakes the vehicle and finds that the brake makes noise, it can be solved by the following three methods:
1. Choose a slightly softer, less dense material for the brake pads;
2. Add an anti-noise sheet between the brake caliper body piston and the brake lining, to ensure that when the car brakes, reduce the wear caused by the contact between the brake lining and the brake disc, thereby reducing or even eliminating the noise phenomenon.
3. The noise of the brake is not only caused by the material, but also caused by the movement of the brake pad to the side. This is caused by the excessive gap between the brake pad and the caliper body. If the noise is made, The master can use solder plating to eliminate the gap between them. Here, the editor needs to remind that when using plated solder, it needs to be opposite to the driving direction to prevent failure under the action of the braking force.
Three, brake air resistance
If you find that the brake has air resistance, the master can solve (or prevent) the following three methods:
1. Do not mix when adding brake fluid;
2. Change the brake fluid regularly, generally speaking, every 5000km in summer or 1000km in winter, you need to replace the brake fluid;
3. Seal the brake fluid. The brake fluid needs to be sealed and stored to prevent the brake fluid temperature from being too high, and to prevent the brake from slipping and biting due to corrosion;
Fourth, the front wheel bearings are damaged
If the caliper body of the disc brake is installed in front of the knuckle, this will undoubtedly increase the combined load of the front wheel bearings and easily cause the front wheel bearings to be damaged in advance. Therefore, for the wheels of this structure, the master should adjust in time.
