Gap Inspection

1.Brake clearance measurement

2. Remaining Journey Check
After the power is cut off and the switch is closed, use a feeler gauge to check the gap between the brake and the brake bolt.
Insufficient remaining travel can lead to the failure of the brake to engage.
The remaining stroke of the drum brake is generally reserved at about 3mm.

The temperature of the brake wheel or brake disc abnormally rises and feels extremely hot to the touch.
A burnt smell is an extremely dangerous signal.
Continuous braking for a long time or improper adjustment of the brake can cause overheating.
2. Reasons for Excessively High Temperature
The clearance between the brake shoe and the brake wheel is too small, and the brake shoe does not completely disengage after the brake is released.
Cooling system failure
Frequent braking causes deformation of the brake discs.

Abnormal Noises

1.Abnormal noise judgment
A shrill or abnormal sound is emitted when braking.
It might be due to loose braking components, impurities or unbalanced rotating parts.
A rough working surface of the brake wheel can also cause abnormal noise.
2. Friction plate wear
A sharp squeaking sound may indicate that the friction pads have worn down to the limit.
When a dull rubbing sound is heard, it indicates that the friction plates have been completely worn out.
