QP Pneumatic Caliper Disc Brakes
QP series pneumatic caliper disc brakes are widely used for parking braking and deceleration braking of various mechanisms in hoisting, transportation, metallurgy, mining, port, wharf, construction and other machinery.
Description
OPERATING CONDITION

Ambient temperature:-5℃~+40℃

Working pressure:QP series is 5-7bar, CQP series is ≤ 7bar.

Outdoor rain and snow erosion or corrosive gases and media should use anti-corrosion products.

The air source should be free of oil, water and other impurities.
MAIN FEATURE
QP series is spring brake, pneumatic release, CQP series is pneumatic brake, spring release.
The whole structure is simple, the volume is small and the weight is light.
Non asbestos brake pad, green and environmental protection.
The brake pad is installed with pressure spring clamping type, which is safe and reliable, and easy and fast to replace.
After adjusting the brake pad, the adjustment is simple and convenient.
All power sources do not need to be set separately, and can be connected with the existing air compressor station, Speed control valve is installed in the air supply line, and the braking time can be adjusted steplessly
QP series can adjust four levels of braking torque with one disc diameter of each type of brake.

For example:
QP12.7 and A-type air bags are selected.There are six springs.The air bag is installed left,which can be written as QP12.7-A-6 left.
QP12.7A and type B air bag are selected,with mechanical brake release display.The air bag is installed on the right,which can be written as QPL12.7A-B-E1 right.

Q1: What is the difference between QP and CQP?
A: QP is normally closed (spring-applied, air-released-brakes engage when air supply is cut off), while CQP is normally open (air-applied, spring-released-braking occurs only when powered or pressurized). Be sure to distinguish them based on your actual control logic during selection; avoid confusion.
Q2: Can braking force be adjusted if it's insufficient?
A: Yes, there are three main methods:
① Adjusting the number of springs to achieve four levels of braking torque;
② Adjusting preload (rotating the adjustment rod to change clearance and working stroke);
③ Replacing with friction pads made of higher-friction material. However, operating air pressure must reach the rated value (5–7 bar).
Q3: What are the risks of excessive working air pressure?
A: Excessive air pressure can result in overly aggressive braking, increasing stress on the transmission system, accelerating wear of brake pads and discs, and even damaging pneumatic components. Insufficient pressure leads to inadequate braking force and longer stopping distances. Air pressure must remain stable within the range of 5–7 bar.
