The SBD Industrial Crane Safety Disc Brake is a high-power braking device used on low-speed shafts (drum shafts), and can be widely applied to the emergency safety braking of low-speed shafts in large and medium-sized cranes, port handling machinery lifting, and boom hoisting mechanisms. Working braking and emergency safety braking for mine winches, hoists and high-power inclined belt conveyors, safety braking for the drive mechanisms of cable cars and cable-stayed cranes, and safety (emergency) braking for the low-speed shafts of the hoisting mechanisms of special cranes such as casting cranes.

The Cranes Hydraulic Disc Brakes is a fail-safe, normally closed, high-power braking device specifically designed for heavy-duty machinery. Its primary function is to serve as an independent emergency braking system, preventing dangerous conditions such as load runaways or slippage when the equipment experiences power failure, pressure loss, or malfunction.

 

This brake employs a mechanism that uses disc springs for braking force and hydraulic drive for release, following the core principle of "brake when no oil pressure is present":

Release state: When the equipment is operating normally, the associated hydraulic station supplies pressurized oil into the cylinder. The hydraulic thrust overcomes the spring force of the internal disc springs, causing the friction pads to disengage from the brake disc, allowing the equipment to run freely.

Braking state: If the system loses pressure, power fails, or a pipeline fault occurs, the hydraulic thrust disappears. The built-in disc spring assembly instantly releases a large preload force, pushing both sides of the friction pads firmly against the brake disc to achieve forced locking.

(SBD250-A-1600×30 IRL means its rated clamping force is 250KN with release limit switch and A-type safety brake of I version installation. The brake disc diameter is 1600mm and the disc thickness is 30mm.)
