Electromagnetic fail-safe disc brake, also known as electromagnetic power-off brake, de-energized brake, spring-applied brake, or normally closed electromagnetic brake, is a safety braking device that combines electromagnetic actuation with friction disc braking and features a fail-safe mechanism. It is an intrinsically safe, normally closed automated actuator.

Description

Electromagnetic fail-safe disc brake

Electromagnetic fail-safe disc brake, also known as electromagnetic power-off brake, de-energized brake, spring-applied brake, or normally closed electromagnetic brake, is a safety braking device that combines electromagnetic actuation with friction disc braking and features a fail-safe mechanism. It is an intrinsically safe, normally closed automated actuator.

Electromagnetic Fail-safe Disc Brakes

Main Feature

  • Small size and light weight. Asbestos free Brakes pad, green and environmental protection, convenient and fast installation and replacement.
  • Compact structure, large braking torque, same as working Brakes.
  • In case of overspeed, it is used as emergency Brakes, and the response time of static Brakes is short under normal conditions.
  • The installation tolerance is large, and the maximum value of end face runout of Brakes disc is ±0.2mm.Perpendicularity deviation of base relative to disc:±4‰.

Failure Protecton Disc Brakes

Operating Condition

  • Ambient temperature:-20℃~+50℃
  • There shall be no inflammable or explosive gas in the surrounding working environment.
  • Relative humidity:the relative humidity of the air is not more than 90%
  • The altitude of the place of use conforms to GB755-2019
  • Outdoor rain and snow erosion or corrosive gases and media should use anti-corrosion products.

Selection and Usage Notes

Matching Operating Conditions: Select model and specifications based on actual equipment conditions, braking requirements, and environmental factors.
Rated Voltage: Common voltages include AC 380V/220V and DC 24V/110V/170V/205V; AC power requires a rectifier.
Friction Pad Inspection: Regularly check for wear; replace immediately if remaining thickness is less than one-third of the original.
Duty Cycle: Distinguish between intermittent duty (e.g., S3 40%) and continuous holding operation.
Air Gap Adjustment: Installation tolerances such as brake disc face runout should be ≤±0.2mm.
Operating Conditions: Typical ambient temperature range is -20°C to 50°C, humidity ≤90%; use in flammable or explosive environments is prohibited.
