How effective is the noise control of electro-hydraulic brakes?

check for hardware-related issues

Wear or oil contamination of brake linings: Replace if the remaining thickness is less than one-third of the original thickness or if rivets are exposed; clean the brake wheel or brake lining if oily

Main spring fatigue/breakage: Replace the spring if the free length is out of tolerance or noticeably weak.

Hinge point jamming: Clean and lubricate all pins and levers to remove rust and eliminate binding.

Hydraulic actuator malfunction: insufficient oil, air in the system, oil leakage, or impeller jamming-requires adding hydraulic oil, purging air, or repairing the actuator.

Adjust the main spring

Method: Loosen the lock nut, then turn the nut clockwise to increase spring compression and thereby increase braking torque.

Adjust the torque scale on the brake nameplate to the specified value (usually the rated braking torque), then tighten the lock nut securely.

Do not over-tighten beyond the maximum limit, otherwise it will be difficult to release the brake and the brake lining may overheat due to friction.

What are the specific differences in the adjustment parameters of the brakes
Replacement of industrial brake seals

Adjust the brake shoe clearance

In the released position, the uniform gap between the two brake shoes and the brake wheel should generally be 0.5–1 mm (refer to the nameplate; for smaller wheels, 0.3–0.5 mm is acceptable).

Adjust the clearance bolts to ensure equal gaps on both sides, preventing uneven dragging or poor contact.

Adjust the clearance or reset the automatic compensation device promptly after pad wear to prevent loss of braking force due to zero compensation travel.

Adjustment of Opening/Closing & Trial Run

Power on and observe that the opening and closing speeds of both brake arms are consistent; if unsynchronized, fine-tune the single-side rod.

The contact area between the lining and the brake wheel during closing shall be ≥70%~80%.

No-load jogging test: Immediate brake engagement upon power loss, no coasting or hook drift; no abnormal heating or unusual noise.

How to determine if the seals of industrial brakes are aged?
⚠️ Warning

Disconnect the main power supply before adjustment, hang a "Do Not Close" sign, and ensure heavy objects are safely lowered or secured.

Severe hook slipping in the hoisting mechanism → immediately stop operation, and have certified personnel carry out repairs; do not merely adjust the spring to make do.
