BEd Explosion-proof Thruster
The BEd explosion-proof thruster is a common actuating device for electro-hydraulic drum and disc brakes. Integrating a motor, a centrifugal pump, and an oil cylinder into a compact unit, it delivers stable thrust to the brake.
Description
How does it work?
When powered on, the explosion-proof motor drives the impeller to rotate, generating hydraulic pressure that pushes the piston and pushrod upward; this overcomes the force of the brake spring and releases the brake.
When power is cut off, the hydraulic pressure dissipates rapidly, allowing the pushrod to return to its original position under the combined action of spring force and gravity, thereby immediately engaging the brake.
This "release when powered, brake when unpowered" design ensures that, in the event of a sudden power outage or a cessation of control system output, the equipment can brake rapidly using the brake spring, providing an additional layer of safety for both the equipment and personnel.
