Leakage Cause Analysis
The main causes of hydraulic oil leakage in electro-hydraulic actuators include

Seal Problems
• Aging, cracking, or deformation of seals resulting in loss of elasticity
• Worn, scratched, or damaged seal rings
• Incompatible seal material with hydraulic oil
• Improper seal groove design or machining accuracy exceeding tolerances

Connection Problems
• Loose or improperly tightened bolts
• Loose or improperly installed pipe joints
• Uneven or damaged flange connection surfaces

Shanghai Jwell machinery Workshop co-operation projects
• Scratches, wear, or corrosion on the piston rod surface
• Wear or out-of-roundness of the cylinder inner wall
• Wear of the guide sleeve leading to excessive clearance
Repair Steps

Preparation
• Ensure the hydraulic system is completely depressurized and the power is turned off
• Prepare special tools: seal installation tools, puller, torque wrench, etc.
• Prepare new seals, ensuring the model and specifications are consistent with the original.
Disassembly and Inspection
• Disassemble the hydraulic cylinder and inspect the piston rod surface for scratches or wear.
• Check the smoothness and roundness of the cylinder inner wall.
• Check the clearance between the guide sleeve and the piston.

Seal Replacement
O-ring Replacement:
• Clean oil and impurities from the seal groove.
• Apply hydraulic oil to the surface of the new O-ring to aid installation.
• Ensure the O-ring is fully embedded in the groove without twisting or deformation.
Piston Rod Seal Replacement:
• Use a special tool to remove the old seal.
• When installing the new seal, ensure the lip faces the pressure side.
• Ensure the seal is installed correctly without twisting or damage.
Critical Component Repair
• Minor scratches on the piston rod surface can be repaired with an oilstone.
• Severely worn piston rods require chrome plating or replacement.
• Worn cylinder inner wall requires boring repair.

Installation and Commissioning
1. Correct Installation
• Assemble the hydraulic cylinder in the reverse order of disassembly.
• Tighten the bolts to the specified torque using a torque wrench.
• Ensure all connection points are clean and free of impurities.
2. System Testing
• Slowly start the hydraulic system and observe for leaks.
• Check if the system pressure is normal.
• Test the smoothness of the actuator's operation.
