What Factors Cause Noise in The Brake?

Sep 28, 2025

1. Friction plate damage
If the rivet heads of riveted friction plates are worn down or the materials of bonded friction plates deteriorate, the friction plates may fall off. During braking, metal surfaces will come into direct contact, and the rotor will be scratched by metal particles. This not only affects the safe braking distance but also causes significant damage to the rotor surface. To eliminate these problems, it is necessary to replace the new friction plates first, and then repair the damaged rotor surface.
2. Misalignment of brake calipers
When the brake calipers are misaligned, the brake disc can be scratched by metal particles. During the repair, each part should be carefully inspected. If any damaged or worn parts are found, they should be replaced in time. If the mounting holes of the brake calipers are not flat, severely damaged, or the guide surfaces are worn, they should also be replaced.
3. Rust and dirt on the edges of the brake calipers and brake discs
If these problems are found during the inspection, the relevant parts should be cleaned and rust removed. If the rusted surfaces have affected the normal operation of the brake calipers and brake discs, they must be replaced.
4. Loose bearing rings
If loose bearing rings are found, they should be repaired and adjusted as necessary.
After understanding the causes of this noise, it is possible to avoid its formation as much as possible.
