Block brakes, also known as drum brakes, use the brake drive mechanism to press brake friction pads on the inside of the drum, generating braking power, parking at short distances to ensure safe driving, and ensuring that the car cannot be reliably slid.
Block brakes are classified in the following categories:
1. Outer holding block brakes: compact structure, tight and loose gate action fast, but the impact is large.
Long travel block brakes can generate large sluice forces through the brake lever system, but the braking movement is slow and suitable for large brakes.
2. Inner block brake: when braking the brake block opens outward, friction brake wheel inside, compact structure, dust resistance is good, can be used for installation space limited occasions, widely used in a variety of vehicles. These two are the two main categories of block brakes. And block brakes are cheap and in line with traditional design, many car manufacturers in order to save costs, the use of front disk rear block braking method. So in our daily lives, many cars also have block brakes.
